Bank of Scotland: 0345 721 3141

Phone the Bank of Scotland general enquiries contact number 0345 721 3141 to manage your current account or credit card and to apply for another of their financial services, which include loans, mortgages, savings accounts and investments.

Call Bank of Scotland’s UK Customer Services number on (+44) 345 721 3141.

This operated system requires a caller to submit their account or card number upon dialling, before giving the option of contacting a member of staff. Although callers would therefore be expected to be existing customers, there are two sets of opening times for this number. Existing customers have access to a 24 hour, 7 day a week phone service. However, new customers can only contact the bank in the marginally smaller time frame of Monday – Friday, 8am-8pm, Saturday, 8am – 6pm, and Sunday, 9am -5pm. As the Customer Services number is a (+44) 03 number, calls are no more expensive than calling a (+44) 01 or (+44) 02 region number from a UK landline. However, charges from mobiles may be higher depending on your service provider.

I recommend customers, existing or new to contact the helpline, as the clarity of speaking to a representative over looking for a solution may be greater help when resolving your particular problem.

Furthermore, the representative may be able to direct you to a more relevant number, such as those for your local branch, who may be better suited to addressing any questions relating to your account. Bank of Scotland has one of the better customer services teams in my opinion, and having to use an automated service before speaking to a real-life person is sadly a common occurrence. Thankfully, when in contact with this person, the responses are attentive and able to cover a host of customer queries.

The Bank of Scotland plc is a commercial and clearing bank based in Edinburgh, Scotland. The Bank of Scotland is the second oldest surviving bank in the United Kingdom, and is not to be confused with RBS, the Royal Bank of Scotland, which too is headquartered in Edinburgh.

In 2006, the HBOS Group Reorganisation Act was passed by UK Parliament, which resulted in the streamlining of the bank’s structure.

Resultantly, the Governor and the Company of the Bank of Scotland became what is now known as the Bank of Scotland plc. The Bank has been a subsidiary of the Lloyds Banking Group when HBOS was acquired by Lloyds TSB in 2009.
